Three inputs, one estimate. We start from the per-square-foot range for your turf type, slide to the low end if your yard is simple and the high end if it's complex, multiply by square footage, and subtract any rebate you qualify for.

How accurate is this estimate?

Why is pet turf more expensive?
Pet turf needs a deeper drainage layer, permeable backing, zeolite infill (which binds ammonia from urine), and tighter seam glue. The premium is roughly $2–$3 per sq ft over standard residential turf.
Does this include the SoCal Water$mart rebate?
No — the calculator shows gross cost. The rebate ($3–$4 per sq ft for converting live turf) comes back to you 6–10 weeks after install. You can subtract it from the estimate to see net cost.
Why is putting green pricing different?
Putting greens use decomposed granite base instead of class-II road base, finer pile turf, real PGA-spec cup liners, and fringe rings. They're priced as a project, not per square foot — small ones start around $4,500.
